These were taken in the building where I, together with other international students enrolled in the basic German language course, held our Eröffungsfeier (opening reception). It was a gathering that could rival the country representation in a United Nations session. Participants came from the States, Australia, Egypt, Japan, Italy, Spain, Korea, Poland, the Philippines (yours truly, natürlich!) and at least ten other countries.
The affair was hosted by the Sprachlehrinstitut, Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. The entire program was in German, and consequently, I only understood about 0.01% of what was said.
