'Surprise' party

What was supposed to be my surprise birthday party more than a week didn't really roll out as surprising. I knew it all along because there were some conflict of interests involved. I thought of organizing a party in the same bar itself where it has been booked for the surprise. The organizer had no resort but to tell me about it a few days before. The surprise was spoiled, and the fun wasn't nonetheless...
