Killing Time

Our good director-general gave each staff's director the discretion to declare the afternoon off in consideration of those who will have to travel to the province in time for All Saint's Day. I've thought of spending the free time for a general check-up, but it turned out the doctors were already on a holiday, and won't be back until next week. With nothing else to do for the rest of the afternoon, I decided to spend my free time at the Mall of Asia (MOA) to hunt for photography magazines at bargain book shops.

I've been keeping a mental note of visiting Baywalk to experiment on taking sunset shots, and people as well who come there in droves to witness the sundown spectacle. The time and opportunity have been elusive to me to take on that personal assignment. I settled for the next best thing yesterday along the boulevard at the back of MOA. This hidden treasure behind the mall is connected via a walkway leading to a viewing deck and the bay area.

Those people spending their time along the shore must have gotten sick of the artificial stuffy air-conditioned atmosphere inside. This version of a baywalk is more expansive compared to the stretch in Malate. Though this one only managed uniform streetlamps spaced few and far in between compared with the colorful lights in the Malate area. Despite this and the prevailing humid weather yesterday afternoon, love birds and families still strolled along the cobbled pavement to while away the time, listening to the waves gently lapping at the boulders beneath the dike, catching some sea breeze, and watching the sun as it melts to an afterglow.

Happy Halloween!
